Frequently Asked Questions.

1.      How do I become a member of The Derby Irish Association?
You can drop down to the club on Beckett Street, fill in a short application, pay the fee and that’s it, you’re a member!
2.      How much does membership cost?
There are different types of membership, all of which are very reasonably priced. Price list below:
Annual 12 month membership: £10
Bi-Annual 6 month membership: £6
Student annual 12 month membership: £5
3.      How Irish do I need to be to join the club?
You don’t need to be Irish at all.  The focus of The Derby Irish Centre is to preserve the Irish Culture in Derby but who says you have to be Irish to celebrate “Irishness.”  Just think of it like taking a French class or celebrating Indian Diwali, everyone can take part and get something from learning about another culture.  The Derby Irish Centre is a social and recreational outlet for people from all backgrounds, races, and creeds.
4.      What services does the club offer?
The club functions as a regular bar, with different attractions on different nights.  For example on Tuesdays there is a Seisún Mór with a live Ceilí band.  For more information check out our Facebook page on www.facebook.com/pages/Derby-Irish-Centre/261045937312955
There are classes at the club including Irish Dancing, Set Dancing, Salsa and Irish language classes.  Again, for more details please check out our Facebook page.
